The BIAN Transformation Award aims to celebrate innovative solutions and implementations, including systems, development methods, architectural approaches, innovative technologies, and mobile solutions, that are based on BIAN’s standards. These solutions and products will show the value-add for organizations and highlight how they can transform the industry as we know it.
Digital transformation is critical for the future of banking, and our aim is to raise awareness of how BIAN can be used and implemented to support this goal. The BIAN Transformation Award will highlight how organizations within the banking and FinTech space use BIAN to accelerate change and
drive innovation.
The BIAN Transformation Award is open to any organization that has used BIAN’s materials to achieve extraordinary results.
The BIAN Transformation Award will recognize and highlight your excellent achievements, demonstrating your role in enhancing the future of the industry. It will also help to show how other organizations can accomplish this too.

Award Categories
The BIAN Transformation Awards have four award categories. Please submit your project in one category only.
NEW category: Best Use of Innovative Technology
We added new category this year to cast more and broader BIAN examples and how BIAN content is being implemented. This category has been created to cover the usage of innovative technology like AI.
We want to discover and find out how the combination of innovative technology and BIAN’s materials are being used across your organisation. In BIAN we are, at the beginning of, developing an AI platform to deliver the BIAN content in a more understandable way.
In this category we are looking for proof of concepts or projects that highlight how you take the BIAN
content into your own business environment.
Questions to consider when submitting your project:
• How do you address changes to your process and tools?
• How do you implement BIAN content into your environment?
• What was the business involvement by choosing these new / innovative tools?
• How does the approval process around the use of BIAN content look like?
• What new or innovative tools are you using and what do you hope it will bring to your organization?

About the Award
The jury will select one category winner from each of the three categories. In addition, a BIAN Champion will be selected from the category winners, as an overall winner of The BIAN Transformation Award.

The above order does not constitute a criteria or ranking order for the jury. The jury is free to weight the individual criteria in the evaluation.

Participation Terms
We accept production ready solutions, products and implementations based on the BIAN standards but also theories and concepts for our new category “Best of Innovative Technologies”.
Registration for the award takes place exclusively via our registration page – BIAN Transformation Award.

We will announce the winners of The BIAN Transformation Awards at the BIAN Global Conference. We look forward to seeing you there, either virtually or in person end of November in London! Award winners will also have the opportunity to network and present their projects to industry leaders at the event. Bring your teams to the award ceremony to join the celebrations.

Results
The companies involved will receive a written notification of the results of the jury. The legal process is excluded.
Meet the Judges
We have a panel of five banking and financial industry leaders and experts. The judges are an independent, international jury who will decide on the winner of the BIAN Transformation Awards. They will assess all entries based purely on the material submitted. All judges are impartial, and the information submitted will be treated as confidential, unless otherwise stated. You can be assured the breath of our panel allows for vigorous and fair judging.

Eran Agrios
BIAN Board Member, SVP & GM, Financial Services at Salesforce
Eran Agrios is the SVP & GM, Financial Services at Salesforce. She is responsible for the product and solution strategy and portfolio for Financial Services customers globally. Eran has over 20 years experience in customer relationship management technology and brings a unique perspective on technology trends and transformation. She helps transform businesses by optimizing for growth and impact while putting their customers at the center of every interaction.
For the last 14 years at Salesforce, Eran has focused on Financial Services customers across Wealth Management, Banking, and Insurance. Over the last 6 years her focus has been growing the Financial Services product & partner portfolio including launching Salesforce’s first industry product, Financial Services Cloud.

Shanker Ramamurthy
BIAN Board Member, Global Managing Partner Banking President IBM Industry Academy
Shanker Ramamurthy is the Global Managing Partner Banking in IBM Consutling with a particular focus on bank transformation, core banking & payments. He is also the President of the IBM Industry Academy and a member of the IBM Acceleration Team.
Over the last 25 years as a consultant and business executive he has worked in all the six continents across forty plus countries in the intersection of strategy, information technology, and financial services. He is a well-known thought leader with five patents relating to addressing complexity, has authored several white papers, and been ranked as one of the 50 most influential financial services consultants worldwide by Euromoney magazine.

Ian G. Gillard
BIAN Board Member, Senior Executive Vice President, Office of the President at Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited
Ian G. Gillard is a senior executive vice president in the Office of the President for Bangkok Bank in Thailand. Ian has been with Bangkok Bank since January 1997 and has current responsibilities in the Technology Division for Development, Enterprise Architecture and End User Support. Current major focus areas for technology investment include Mobile Banking and Mobile capabilities for employees.
Ian previously was Systems Director at Bank of America in San Francisco running the Advisory Services Group, which provided technology advisory services to banks in Asia. Prior to this Ian was the Architect for the Wholesale Bank at Bank of America and was involved in setting strategies across the Wholesale Bank including Payments, Global Cash Management and Trade Finance. Ian was also assigned primary responsibility for the Wholesale Technology Due Diligence for the mergers with both Security Pacific and the Continental Illinois.
Prior to joining Bangkok Bank Ian worked as a developer and development manager in Wells Fargo and in HM Paymaster General’s office.

James Buckley
Executive Vice President Strategic Business at Temenos
James Buckley has been working in business transformation and technology in the banking, insurance, government and supply chain sectors over the past thirty years. He has specialised in systems and business transformation programmes in Europe and Asia deploying core banking and digital solutions to enable change. James has worked directly in lead positions in change programmes directly with Client companies and also with software providers, notably Temenos, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys and IBM, as well as driving business development in the latter organisations.
James has engaged in major programmes of change across Europe, the US and East Asia. He has worked with more than 30 financial services organisations over that period, with global banks such as HSBC and Santander, large regional banks such as USAA, IBK in Korea and PostFinanz in Switzerland, through Insurance companies such as Zurich Assurance and Standard Life as well as UK government initiatives and Supply Chain change at John Lewis in the UK.

Hans Tesselaar
Executive Director at BIAN
Hans Tesselaar has over 30 years experience in Financial Services Industry being active for Banks, Insurance companies and Pension funds. For 8 years Hans worked at different management positions within ING, from Chief Architect to Director Sourcing, Innovation and Governance (Director CIO Office).
Hans Tesselaar has special areas of knowledge such as People development, re-organisations / re-structuring of the labour force, negotiating with labour unions and workers councils. As a managing partner of an ICT Consultancy Firm specializing in financial services he has long term experience in the areas of expertise like Strategic Business Planning, Enterprise Architecture, HR development, Innovation.
